Living most of her life in Limón, Monika never got very far without running into someone she knew.
She was an essential part of the community. Whereas she was retired on disability thanks to many injuries and health troubles she went through, Monika spent most of the time home taking care of the house and trying to get busy by finding new hobby. All started just with sheet of paper and pencil but as she loved colors, she decided to reach for colors. Well and there it was, her passion for painting was found. With plenty of time she wondered around the neighborhood, painting nature and strange people. Every time Monika finished her masterpiece I was stunned. It seemed like she was born for this. I tried to be very supportive and on her 45th birthday I decided to make a small exhibition of her works for friends and relatives in local library. I will never forget the look in her face. I was glad that she found something she was good at.
Always caring and listening, so she was a wonderful friend to many that knew her. Never wanted to disappoint anyone had made her very popular around. Everybody knew, they could rely on her.
She will be remembered for the person she was. I think I don’t have to mention all her great sides. Her acts spoke louder than they sounded.
With love your sister
